Investing + portfolio

  • Deal sourcing + evaluation: screen opportunities, build quick briefs, and support partner diligence
  • Portfolio support: track updates, extract KPIs, and summarize what matters for decision-making
  • Founder + market context: research competitive landscapes, customer channels, and key risks

Operations + investor support

  • Investor experience: quarterly portfolio updates, timely follow-ups, and high-touch communications
  • Structure + execution: SPV-based investing, clean internal data, and repeatable operating workflows
  • Systems + tooling: automation and process design that keeps the team fast, nimble, and organized
How interns contribute: You’ll support real workflows across deal flow, portfolio tracking, and operations—helping the team stay organized, move quickly, and deliver a world-class investor experience.

Internship scope

Expect a blend of analyst-style work, operational execution, and tech-enabled optimization.

Analyst-style responsibilities

  • Build quick, accurate opportunity briefs (what it is, why it matters, key risks)
  • Track and summarize portfolio updates and data points
  • Support partners with data during and prior to calls throughout the day
  • Maintain internal notes and structured information for fast retrieval

Operations + technology responsibilities

  • Identify workflow gaps and propose + complete improvements (interns can self-initiate projects)
  • Contribute to lead generation and appointment-setting campaigns using tools and prebuilt workflows
    • Collaborate on workflow design and optimization
    • Help evaluate and implement modern tools
    • Create templates, dashboards, and repeatable processes
    • Test and QA internal automations and tooling

Investor relationship support

Interns may support investor engagement workflows that keep relationships high-touch, organized, and scalable.

  • Networking events: coordinate small, high-quality events within ROC’s existing investor network (logistics, scheduling, RSVPs)
  • Run-of-show + follow-up: agendas, attendee comms, and post-event notes/actions
  • Investor experience: automate investor thank-you gifts and follow-ups (tracking, triggers, and fulfillment workflows)
  • Operational polish: maintain clean tracking so partners have context before and during conversations

Marketing + brand building

Interns may also contribute to how ROC presents itself—building a differentiated brand as the organization grows.

  • ROC swag: design and iterate on unique ROC-branded items (concepts, vendor coordination, small-batch runs)
  • Brand + subbrands: support brand development and iteration over time (naming, positioning, lightweight brand systems)
  • Creative testing: propose concepts, gather feedback, and iterate quickly

What to expect if selected

How you’ll work

  • High trust, high accountability
  • Short feedback loops
  • Deliverable ownership (not “busy hours”)
  • Professional exposure: you’ll be close to real workflows and decisions

How we evaluate success

  • Clarity and accuracy of your outputs
  • Speed + quality (without sacrificing detail)
  • Ability to operate independently after initial onboarding
  • Professional communication and reliability
Important: Because we are a small team, interns must be able to work with ambiguity and keep work moving without constant direction. In return, you get a level of visibility and responsibility that most internships don’t offer.
